Holders of the F.A.Charter Standard Award 2003 (Renewed 2005)
Oakfield Youth was established in 1999 as a single team, by Steve Brougham who had the vision and commitment, linked to the intention of providing a quality club structure, sound coaching and an enjoyable environment for player’s parents and spectators.
Since the clubs inception, it has increased in number from one single team to include 2 teams at Under 8, 2 teams at Under 9, and 1 team at age groups 10, 11, 12 and 13,14 & 15 a Total of over a 140 club players, in The Isle Of Wight Sunday Youth League.
As a fresh new club we welcomed the invitation from Hampshire FA to a presentation evening on the FA Chart Standard Award, held on the isle of wight, this coincided with our own ideas on the growth of the club , and at the time and helped enabled us to make plans to build a solid foundation for the future of the club, on attending the presentation we found that we already had some of the criteria in place, but it was useful to have direction and guidance from Hampshire FA and The Football Association.
We have always insisted upon the highest of standard from players, coaches, managers and supporters, and met no resistance when we asked all team managers to attend the Junior Managers Course (Now Called Level 1 Coaching Course).Everyone who has attended the courses, have gained something different from it and have used the knowledge to improve their own ability and that of the children in there care, and to lay a solid foundation for the future.
Since gaining the Charter Standard Award we have identified the criteria for the further award of Charter Standard Development Club,we hope in the near future to run a scheme for girls, which we hope will enable us to measure the local support in running girls 11-a-side team in the near future.
The Club has received positive exposure in the local press, which in turn has seen recognition from the local Council, whom have just supplied us with a brand new playing facilities in Ryde, in the form of pitches 2x 11-a-side, 1 mini-soccer, we now hope to fund raise to enable a set of changing facilities to be built, to include a lecture room, committee room and Tea Bar.
We receive numerous enquires from interested people wishing to join the club, and our current members and players come from all over the Isle of Wight. This we believe is a testament to the fact we operate in a professional and responsible manner and with the current Charter Standard Award can boast we are only one of a few clubs on the Isle of Wight and in Hampshire who possess this distinction.
Oakfield Youth F.C. will continue to set the standards in our local area and actively encourage our opposition to enjoy our facilities and hospitality.
How qualified/capable is your football team's registered first aider?
Qualified and fully capable
Has done some basic training but is hardly qualified. It's just to meet regulations really.
Don't have a registered first aider - we blag it!
Don't officially need a registered first aider
